To mark National Apprenticeship Week, Via East Midlands has taken to social media to showcase all their apprentices’ experiences and achievements within the organisation so far.
Via celebrated “Thank You Thursday” and “Apprentice Wednesday” in support of their ever-developing apprentices and in the hopes of inspiring other ambitious young talent to join the Via family and accelerate their careers.
As an active member of the 5% Club, a movement where companies pledge to achieve at least 5% of their workforce in “earn and learn” positions such as apprenticeships and graduate roles, Via’s commitment towards developing young or reskilling people and providing career opportunities in the local community has always been paramount.
In support of this, Via has recently been shortlisted by the Rate My Placement Awards, which were entirely voted for by students who reviewed their experiences with Via, officially placing in the “Best 45 Small to Medium-sized Schemes for 2023/2024.”
Via aims to continue providing a range of early careers opportunities to young people and those looking at reskilling throughout the local Nottinghamshire and East Midlands area.
Sally Smith, HR and Training Director at Via East Midlands said:
“We’re really proud of our apprenticeship and early careers programmes.
“Over the past few years we’ve welcomed dozens of young people, or more experienced workers looking for a change in career, onto an apprenticeship or graduate placement with us, and it has been wonderful to see them develop.
“We hope their experiences, combined with our recent shortlisting for the Rate My Placement Awards, inspire the next cohort of new talent to come and join the Via family.”
Councillor Neil Clarke MBE, Cabinet Member for Transport and Environment at Nottinghamshire County Council said:
“Providing opportunities for young people across Nottinghamshire is a key part of the Nottinghamshire Plan and I’m extremely proud of the training and employment offered by Via.
“Apprenticeships not only give people the chance to learn a profession with on-the-job experience, they are a vital part in developing our workforce for the future.”
