Road Safety is a key element of Via East Midlands’ Safer Highways Team and we are challenged to drive the continued downward trend of road traffic collisions on Nottinghamshire’s roads.
Organisations have a duty of care to their employees who drive in order to perform their duties, whether as regular drivers, or those for whom driving is an occasional requirement.
We offer an interactive occupational road risk presentation addressing issues around driving for work, such as:
- Mobile phone usage
- Vehicle types/speed limit
- The Highway Code. Particularly common areas that people do not understand, as well as the frequency of changes that are made to the Highway Code
- Drink/drug driving
- Driving for “YOUR BUSINESS” looking at your own policies and how the law changes when employees drive for work
- Driver fatigue
Our presentation is interactive, with a couple of fun activities that require your employees to participate. We record responses to our questions (anonymously) and we will be able to offer feedback to yourselves, where we think that there are issues that you may wish to be aware of. For example, in previous sessions, we have had significant numbers of employee drivers who:
- Did not know their employer’s mobile phone policy (whilst driving)
- Admitted to driving whilst fatigued
- Believed that there were aspects of driver-related company policies that they did not understand, but they didn’t know how to access them
- Did not know some key aspects of the Highway Code
The audience size ideally ranges from 20 employees to 120 in one session with flexibility on group sizes, session times and locations to fit your organisation’s needs.
Road Safety Education
Via has a dedicated team of road safety specialists who are able to offer training across a range of disciplines. We can take the learnings from the initial presentation to develop bespoke training to fit your organisation’s needs and budget.
