What is a Road Safety Audit?
Road Safety Audits identify how collisions might occur because of proposed changes to a physical layout of the highway network and make recommendations to reduce harm to the travelling public.
We undertake audits across the region including Nottinghamshire, Derbyshire, Leicestershire and Lincolnshire.
Why do you need a Road Safety Audit?
Road Safety Audits are generally required where a change in the physical layout of the highway network is proposed that could change road user behaviour.
Additionally, local Planning and Highway Authorities often require the submission of a Road Safety Audit as part of the acceptance or adoption of a new or revised public highway.
What are the stages of a Road Safety Audit?
- Stage 1 Road Safety Audit – Completion of Preliminary Design
- Stage 2 Road Safety Audit – Completion of Detailed Design
- Stage 3 Road Safety Audit – Completion of Construction
- Stage 4 Road Safety Audit – Post-completion Collision Monitoring at 12 and 36 months

GG 119 Compliant Experts
Our Road Safety Auditors each hold the GG 119 Highways England Approved Certificate of Competency for the Highways England to carry out road safety audits on the UK Strategic Trunk Road and Motorway network.
Reports will be produced in the GG 119 format and conform to Nottinghamshire County Council’s policy. Our qualified team have completed works with Local Highway Authorities nationally, therefore, we can meet specific requirements outside of the GG 119.
Flexible and Responsive
We understand the pressures of meeting a tight deadline, therefore, Stage 1 or a Stage 2 report can be completed within 14 working days after instruction.
Dependant on your requirements we can complete each stage under separate instruction, therefore, you don’t need to commit to more than one stage at a time.
