In this key stage we recognise the transition of childhood to adulthood and the increased responsibilities that the students have along with the increase in environments that they will be exposed to as they prepare to transition from secondary school.

Year 10 – In My Opinion
In this engaging workshop we explore the different ways people interact with the road; pedestrian, cyclist and driver; and the importance of focus, along with exploring the Road User Hierarchy. The workshop is complete with a road collision scenario activity that involves critical thinking, decision making and analytic skills to convey thoughts and opinions.
Year 11 – Know Your Role?
In this workshop we educate the students on the importance of safety as a driver of a vehicle. From the age of 15 and 9 months a person can apply for a provisional driver’s licence and from the age of 16 it is legal to ride a moped. At the cusp of further independence, it is a crucial stage to equip the students with the abilities to recognise hazards that they may face in the future as new drivers. This session will highlight the devastating consequences of the following – speeding, mobile phone use, and driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs. In this session the students will also use their analytic skills to decipher good and bad driving behaviours and will leave the session armed with the knowledge and confidence to be a safe driver.
