For those looking to start a new career or change direction, Via East Midlands currently has 20 apprenticeships available from entry to degree level.
Via, a company wholly-owned by Nottinghamshire County Council, provides highways and engineering service to both the Council and commercial customers across the East Midlands.
It now has apprenticeship roles available in almost all areas of the business, whether out delivering services on the ground or working in teams providing support services to the business.
The apprenticeships reaffirm Via’s commitment to developing people and providing opportunities in the local area. Via is a member of The 5% Club, a movement where companies pledge to achieve at least 5% of the their workforce in ‘earn and learn’ positions, such as apprenticeships and graduate roles.
The jobs on offer range from highways maintenance, forestry and fabricating, through to data analysis, technical support and PR and communications. They also include four Civil Engineering Degree Apprentice roles in Via’s Design Consultancy and casualty reduction team.
All roles are permanent with applicants moving on positions within Via on completion of their apprenticeships.
Additionally, Via is offering three ‘year in industry’ placements, where university students join the company for a year and work on real civil engineering projects, whilst receiving a salary.
Via’s Head of HR, Sally Smith said: “We’re delighted to be offering so many opportunities for people to join the Via family in a huge range of roles at different levels.
“Whether you’re just finishing school, college or you’re looking for a change in career, an apprenticeship at Via could be the perfect platform to launch a new and exciting career within the engineering sector.
“Apprenticeships form a big part of our early careers offer, giving people the chance to learn both on-the-job and in the classroom, all whilst earning a salary.”
Applications for the roles close later this month. Those interested can find out more at www.viaem.co.uk/careers-with-via/ and apply online.
