Works progress with the installation of the drainage channels and kerbing. The footways were resurfaced to ensure the water was directed towards the channels.

The Client required the installation of a drainage system with channels and kerbing to reduce the impact of water on the School buildings. 

A series of interlinked drainage channels and kerbs were installed along the rear of the Lowes Wong Infant School to collect water that runs off the playing field above the school buildings. 

The drainage channels were installed for the efficient removal of the surface water and to give a storage capacity for the water. The channels were then connected into a new drain system which also had a degree of water storage capacity. New gullies were installed at low points within the playground and footways and connected to the new drain system. 

The new drain system was connected into the existing drainage system within the school grounds. 

The kerbs were installed against the drainage channels to prevent the water from bypassing the channel. The existing timber fencing was reinstalled at the rear of kerbs and a new knee-rail fence where there had been no existing fence to prevent the kerbs being a trip hazard. 

The existing footways were then reinstated and the grassed areas top soiled and reseeded.
