Course Overview:

This course aims to provide employees working within the Highway Electrical Sector the underpinning skills needed to operate specific powered hand tools, identify specific hand and power tool operation and associated hazards and risks for Petrol Driven Cut-Off Saws and Abrasive Wheel.

Course Content:

  • Review of Legislation and guidance for the correct safe use of work equipment
  • Understand the safe use of Abrasive Wheels
  • Focus on possible problems and recognition with Abrasive Wheels
  • Operation of cut off saw

Course Objectives:

  • Identify Hazards and Risks with specific Power tools
  • Understand the required PPE
  • Identify appropriate legislation
  • Understand the necessary work required for correct care and maintenance of specific power tools
  • Understand the correct storage of specific power tools
  • Identify the correct tool for the job

Additional Information:

This full day course is delivered in line with the requirements of the Highways Electrical Registration Scheme (HERS).

All Learners will be required to fill in the Pre-requisite form before attending the course

The Learner is required to bring with them, all required and appropriate PPE that is fit for purpose without defect for the task, also bring your Face Fitted Mask or Air Fed Helmet (please enquire if unsure)
