The Education team regularly attends events throughout the county, talking about the different ways we can keep ourselves and other people safe whilst out and about on our highways. Below are some of the areas that we talk about. 

Drink Drive? Choose the Alcohol Free option 

The team regularly meet drivers and offer samples and suggestions of zero alcohol drinks that drivers can enjoy.  We also share some mocktail recipes that drivers may enjoy.  This can be in a public setting at open events or perhaps at a workplace or organisation event. 

Mobile Phones  

It is now the norm to do just about everything using a mobile device; however, when it comes to driving a vehicle what is and isn’t allowed. Out team can help you understand what you can and cannot do when it comes to mobile devices in the vehicle. 

Seatbelts 

What is the first thing you do when you get in the car? Put on your seatbelt? It should be the first thing we automatically do when we get in the vehicle, however does everyone know why it is so important that we wear them?  We attend events to help both adults and children understand that one person not wearing a seatbelt puts everyone at risk, and by making sure everyone is secured correctly up we help protect everyone in that vehicle. 

Eye Health 

We attend events to help people understand the importance of good eye health for driving, and why everyone should be having regular eye checks.  Did you know that it is a legal requirement for a driver to be able to read a Vehicle Registration Number (VRN) from a required distance?  Do you know what that distance is, and can you measure it out accurately? We can help.
